The Rusty Kaspa team has launched the TN11 HF release to hardfork the Testnet-11 environment, marking a pivotal step in Kaspa’s Crescendo roadmap. This release brings critical updates and optimizations aimed at preparing for the 10bps mainnet.
Release Highlights
The TN11 HF includes:
- Enabling KIP10 for enhanced functionality.
- Switching KIP9 to utilize its Beta version in consensus.
- Enabling transaction payloads, paving the way for more robust transaction capabilities.
- Incorporating significant optimizations, designed to assess minimum recommended hardware specs for achieving 10bps on the mainnet.
Activation Timeline
The hardfork will activate at DAA score 287238000, expected to occur around December 3, 2024, at 18:00 UTC. Testnet-11 node maintainers must upgrade their nodes to the TN11 HF release before this activation to ensure compatibility.
A Special Testnet-Only Release
This release features code not yet integrated into Kaspa’s mainline. It is exclusively intended for Testnet-11 and should only be used by its node maintainers.
Significance of the Release
The TN11 HF release is a significant milestone in Kaspa’s roadmap. It consolidates months of development efforts, introduces crucial features, and sets the stage for determining optimal hardware specifications for Kaspa’s future mainnet performance.
