Ubisoft has set the launch date for its first Web3 game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, for October 23, 2024. This tactical RPG is Ubisoft’s big move into blockchain gaming, built on Oasys blockchain’s HOME Verse, a layer-2 network for games.
The game features 75,000 champions, each with unique traits and abilities. Players fully own their assets, a core part of Web3 tech, adding a strategic edge to gameplay.
Hype has been growing since the game’s reveal at IVS Kyoto. Earlier this year, Ubisoft started minting “Warlords” and “Champions,” with high demand from the community. By October, the game’s social community had grown on X and Discord.
This launch marks Ubisoft’s dive into Web3, focusing on immersive gameplay over financialized GameFi. With developers from Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, Ubisoft plans to merge traditional gaming with blockchain seamlessly.
